There are many lies being spread concerning the supernatural spiritual realm...

We all have a guardian angel, right? Wrong…

There are many lies being spread concerning the supernatural spiritual realm. These myths are spread for the purpose of deceiving you. If you believe a lie, you will live a lie. Those who have been given insight have a responsibility to share that knowledge “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:32

Angels have been falsely portrayed as mysterious, personal assistants to every person on Earth. They have also been depicted as a cute, chubby baby-faced being called Cupid whose job is to shoot arrows in everyone's heart to spread love. These myths are also false.

Angels were created by God for God to praise, worship and serve God. They are mighty, powerful and holy beings dedicated to and set apart for God, alone. “Bless the Lord, you His angels, who excel in strength, who do His word, heeding the voice of His word. Bless the Lord, all you His hosts, you ministers of His, who do His pleasure. Bless the Lord, all His works, in all the places of His dominion." Psalm 103:20-22

Angels were created and are not born. There are no baby angels who grow up to be big angels. People do not become angels when they die.

The devil (Satan) - who was an angel - is not an ugly red man who carries a pitchfork. Neither is he a foolish little imp who sits on your shoulder to tempt you.

God formed the universe and created everything in it. “For by Him all things were created that are in Heaven and that are on Earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the Church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence." Colossians 1:16-18

To do His bidding within the universe, God created and established a hierarchy of angels. Every angel has a rank and operates in strict order within this rank according to God’s direction and authority. Most are familiar with angels referred to as seraphim and cherubim as well as the archangels. One commonly known as Michael is an archangel. However, there are many more angelic beings that we are not very familiar with known as throne angels, ruling angels, principalities, lordships and there are more. God has given specific responsibilities to these angels for the purpose of carrying out His Word.

Angels are spiritual beings who have emotions, intelligence and a will. Like man, God’s angels were tested. Some were deceived by Satan and chose to rebel. These fallen angels became demons. Those angels who did not rebel have a loyalty to God that is fierce and unmatched. “Then immediately an angel of the Lord struck him, because he did not give glory to God. And he was eaten by worms and died.” Acts 12:23

Angels are not to be worshiped nor are they to be idolized for this is a sin. They are created beings, as we are, put here to serve God and man, as we have. “And I fell at his (an angel) feet to worship him. But he said to me, “See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy." Revelation 19:10

God is a God of authority and order. “Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in Heaven and on Earth.” Mathew 28:18

Everything within the universe is subject to the order and the authority that God has established. “Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.” Romans 13:1

The spiritual realm parallels the earthly realm. Where there is an earthly ruler with the authority to make decisions, there is also an angelic ruler with the authority to make decisions. This is true in God’s Heavenly realm as well as in the demonic realm. Even in this, God is still in control of it all. “All things were created that are in Heaven and that are on Earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.” Colossians 1:16-18

Angels are given immense responsibilities. They have a charge to keep watch over the universe, nations, countries, states, cities, neighborhoods, churches and God’s people.

Angels are ministering spirits who are assigned to those who follow Jesus Christ. Every Believer has been appointed one or more angels who watch over them, protect them, fight for them, assist them, serve them – and for some, speak God’s messages to them. Angels are NOT assigned to anyone who rejects Jesus Christ. “Are they (angels) not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?” Hebrews 1:14.

God works through His angelic chain of command to direct nature, the weather and everything within the universe. At God’s command, angels are also given the ability to dispense judgment throughout the land in the form of natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods and hurricanes. “After these things I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the Earth, holding the four winds of the Earth, that the wind should not blow on the Earth, on the sea, or on any tree. Then I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God. And he cried with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was granted to harm the Earth and the sea, saying, “Do not harm the Earth, the sea, or the trees till we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads.” Revelation 7:1-3

ALL God’s creations are subject to Him for He is the Author of ALL life. This includes Satan and the fallen angels (demons) who rebelled against Him. They can do nothing without God’s permission. Contrary to what the world may want you to believe, God is using the devil (Satan) and his demons for a predetermined period of time to sift the people on this Earth. He is uses them to test and to separate those who will serve God from those who are against God. When God has no more use for Satan, he and his demons will be tossed into the lake of fire forever. This is explained in the book of Job:

“Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them. And the Lord said to Satan, “From where do you come?” So Satan answered the Lord and said, “From going to and fro on the Earth, and from walking back and forth on it.” Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the Earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?” So Satan answered the Lord and said, “Does Job fear God for nothing? Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. But now, stretch out Your hand and touch all that he has, and he will surely curse You to Your face!” And the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your power; only do not lay a hand on his person.” So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord.” Colossians 1:6-12

Angels are very involved in our life. They are particularly involved in spiritual warfare. Spiritual warfare is a battle that takes place all around us between the heavenly and demonic angelic realms. They are fighting over the souls of mankind. If the demonic realm succeeds in destroying you through sin, they win. If you reject the devil and live your life for Jesus Christ, you win. “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12

However, as God is a just and Holy God, there are times that He cannot and will not allow the angels to move on behalf of His people. When there is sin and rebellion in the life of a Believer, angels are ordered to hold back their assistance for God does not operate in an environment of disorder and confusion. “Now we know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears him.” John 1:31

For those Believers who are not in rebellion, God hears and answers your prayers – even though, at times, it may seem as if He does not. Angels are dispatched to act on behalf of Believers when they pray. The invisible, spiritual warfare never ends and there may be a delay in receiving your answer due to the battle between good and evil that is taking place over you. “Then he (an angel) said to me, “Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words (prayer) were heard; and I have come because of your words. But the (demonic) prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief (godly) princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia.” Daniel 10:12-13

Never underestimate the power of prayer.

God loves each and every one of His children with a love so extravagant that He deemed us worthy of sacrificing His beloved Son. When pain is inflicted on us by those who do evil and their injustice causes us to suffer, God responds. First, He asks us to come to Him instead of taking matters into our own hands. If you do this, God will command His angels to administer His righteous vengeance towards those who do evil against you. God is our recompense. “Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that in Heaven their angels always see the face of My (Jesus Christ) Father who is in Heaven.” Mathew 18:10

One night, after praying for strength in the midst of struggling through a rough time in my life, I had a vision. In the vision, I saw an angel ministering to me at the foot of my bed. I laid on my back and lifted my head and saw a tall, thin being that was full of light massaging my feet and ankles. Somehow, I just knew it was an angel. I felt tingling in the areas where the angel touched me. I spoke to the angel and asked a question. However, the angel did not respond. So, I laid my head back down. The next morning, I prayed and asked God to explain what had happened to me. The Lord reminded me of the prayer I had prayed asking Him to strengthen me in my walk. God had sent an angel to impart the divine strength I needed to continue in my walk. God is good and is always there for His children. He will never leave us nor forsake us.
